Senior Director

Leah Chandler is a Senior Director at Stott Development Solutions Group. Prior to joining SDSG Leah served as the Director of Development for Giffords: Courage to Fight Gun Violence, the gun violence prevention organization founded by former Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords and Captain Mark Kelly. At Giffords, Leah oversaw a multi-tiered, multi-entity development program and was responsible for building the framework and infrastructure required to create a sustainable, thoughtful and strategic program to match a growing and increasingly impactful organization.

Leah has more than 15 years of experience working with candidates, campaigns, non-profits and other organizations in the progressive space. Prior to joining Giffords, Leah oversaw development and partnerships for a leading think tank in Washington, D.C., building inroads in the corporate community and bridging the connection between funders and leading edge policy formation. In the 2012 election cycle, Leah served as the Deputy National Finance Director for the 2012 Democratic National Convention in Charlotte, NC, where she managed two national fundraising accounts and was a senior member of the team that produced a historically successful nominating convention. She later went on to serve as a Senior Advisor to the Presidential Inaugural Committee for President Barack Obama’s second inauguration. Leah began her career working on numerous political campaigns – from state representative to Lt. Governor, eventually working at the DCCC and on several U.S. House and Senate campaigns.

Leah is a graduate of the University of Missouri – Columbia. Originally from Kansas City, Missouri, she currently resides in Washington, D.C. with her husband and daughter.

Emily Winternitz is a Director at Stott Development Solutions Group. Prior to joining SDSG, she served as a Major Gifts Officer for Share Our Strength, a national non-profit working to end childhood hunger.

Emily brings a breadth of political and non-profit fundraising experience, ranging from managing relationships with high net worth individuals and foundations, to building strategic engagement plans and long term development strategies. Previously, Emily served as the Majority Council Manager for EMILY’s List, where she worked closely with mission-driven donors up and down the east coast, and executed fundraising and donor servicing events large and small. In addition to deep knowledge of portfolio and relationship management, Emily brings focus and discipline to fundraising, setting best practices and implementing systems and processes to make development teams smarter and more effective.

Emily received a B.A. in English from Rollins College in Winter Park, Florida. A Baltimore native, Emily now lives with her husband in Washington, D.C., where she is perpetually looking for parking and watching the West Wing on Netflix.
